Privacy

Short and honest: we store as little as possible.

  • We store a random player ID, your username (or nickname if you play as a guest), and your matches and moves.
  • Your password is never stored in plain text – only as a salted hash that can't be reversed.
  • Email only if you choose to give it. No phone number, no real names.
  • Your email is used for three things: to confirm that the address is yours, to send you a link if you've forgotten your password and – only if you turn it on yourself – to remind you when it's your turn. No newsletters, no ads and no tracking in the emails. Every reminder has a link that turns them off.
  • The emails are sent through our email provider. If you delete your account, the address, the links and the log of sent reminders are deleted too.
  • No tracking cookies and no ads. Just a login cookie so we recognize you – and a cookie that remembers your language if you change it.
  • We count visits with Umami, which runs on our own server. Umami sets no cookies and stores no personal data or IP addresses – only anonymous statistics, such as which pages are visited and how many matches are started.
  • Matches against the computer and two-on-one-phone matches are stored only in your browser.
  • Settings like sound and music are stored only in your browser.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
  • Pocket LTW is a free hobby project run by a private individual, who is also responsible for your data.
  • Chat messages that someone reports can be read by the person who runs the game, together with the nearby messages in the same match, in order to stop abuse. No other chat is read.
  • What you write under Feedback is stored and read by the person who runs the game, together with the page you were on and – if you were logged in – your name. The contact field is optional and only used to reply to you. No IP address is stored. If you delete your account, anything you wrote while logged in is deleted too.
  • On the leaderboard, your username and results are visible to everyone. You can turn this off in Settings. Guests are never shown.
  • Notifications: if you say yes when your phone or browser asks, we store an address for your browser's notification service (Google, Apple or Mozilla) and two keys, so we can let you know when it's your turn or when your opponent has written in the chat. The content is encrypted in transit. If you turn off notifications in Settings, or delete your account, the address is removed.
